Rating by category:
The hotel appeared to have excellent conference facilities. This is probably the reason for their high rating but was not particularly important to us as individual guests. The buffet breakfast was excellent. WiFi was free and accessible in the room.
We normally enjoy country hotels, but because this one was rather large and a seminar destination, it lacked the expected calm and charm. The restaurant where we had planned to have our anniversary dinner was closed, presumably to accommodate a seminar group. One morning at breakfast we did not get our coffee until we were nearly done eating because the dining staff, although friendly, were overworked. Our room had a "country chic" decorator feel, but no apparent attention had been paid to guest comforts. There was no refrig/mini-bar or luggage racks. The old fashioned style tub had no place to put soap and shampoo; towels were thin and scratchy, no wash cloths were provided.
Comfortable beds, lovely setting
The annexe we stayed in smelt damp, the carpets were stained and the seats in the brasserie were ingrained with food. The breakfast selection was very poor. There were no tea and coffee facilities in the room as stated on Booked.net and when we showed the hotel this they just said it was wrong and didn't offer to rectify in any way.
I really enjoying the outside part of the restaurant
This hotel is very confortable, very quiet and so nice lifestyle. Bedrooms are perfect, cooking very good we spend a very nice time and hope to come back soon.
Reception staff were superb. Other staff not as helpful and should be more attentive. The Brasserie Restaurant was excellent and served a Sole Meuniere which was memorable. There are probably too many business functions held at this hotel to the detriment of paying overnight guests who can can be forgotten. This hotel is not cheap. A seperate area for guests including bar would be helpful
The Beds needed Padded Headboards and the rooms and furnishings should be upgraded. Needs a Bar for the paying guests seperate from the functions. At these high prices staff should be more attentive towards its paying guests. It should not be necessary to leave ones seat to order drinks, the staff should be aware that guesta are waiting for service. Acces to the riverside was difficult - staff were cleaning up after function and doors were shut - why?
A really nice place with a good location to Ghent and that part of the contry. Breakfast was good. Glad I only paid the discount rate via Bookings.com otherwise it was over priced.
Strane bed situation. A twin captured within a 4 post arrangement. both beds separate and made up separately. Lounge faces door, TV on side wall behind and to the side of the lounge. The only place to watch the TV is from the bed, but one person is partly obstructed by the 4 bed post arrangement. Junior suite is in a separate building (v.close) above the conference facilities. Lack of powerpoints. no tea/coffee facilities in-room.
My husband and I really enjoyed the dinner at Orangerie (One Star - Michelin Guide) at Auberge de Pecheur. We chose the degustation menu, every dish was marvelous and delicious. One of the staff was kind and explained about each course in fluent English.
Hotel staff excellent, they were always trying to help the customer. Which is rare these days. Breakfast excellent. Wifi good.
The hotel staffs are very kind and friendly. The room is very clean and comfortable. We think a relaxed and quiet hotel, so we enjoyed a good time. And the dinner and breakfast in the restaurant is very tasty.
I had a business dinner there and it was convenient to stay at same location
the mattras was too soft to my liking
Asa always - very pleasant staff and lovely hotel.
In the weekends - they need more staff to help at the busy breakfast time, but he did his best.
Very good standard of food in the brasserie. This was busy with locals using it for dinner. Hotel not busy, given an upgrade in room. Quiet location yet easy access from motorway. Friendly staff and English spoken.
Good atmosphere, cultivated lokation and enviroment, breakfast exellent
Nice view on the land. Well decorated.
Expected a bit more from Brasserie the Green, given the restaurant has also a 1 Michelin Star restaurant.
Nice and clean hotel room, friendly staff, nice location, good food!
